Leticia Martinez Student-at-Law

Leticia Martinez is completing her Articles after a 14-year legal career in Mexico. She completed the Internationally Trained Lawyers Pathway Program, at the University of Alberta, and holds her Certificate of Qualification from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada.

Leticia began practicing law in Mexico, where she gained meaningful experience as a litigator for the government and for private firms. Her work involved representing clients, preparing legal arguments, and managing complex files; that required strong judgment and a clear understanding of legal procedure. This background continues to shape her approach to her practice in Canada, giving her confidence and maturity in handling challenging situations.

After moving to Edmonton in 2017, she expanded her experience across different areas including several years working as a paralegal and discovered that she feels most connected to family-focused work. She values listening, building trust, and helping clients navigate difficult transitions with clarity and compassion. Colleagues and clients describe her as sharp, approachable, dedicated, and easy to converse with.

Leticia is committed to ongoing learning and regularly participates in CBA, LESA, and other professional development programs to strengthen her skills and stay current in her field. Also, she volunteers regularly with several community agencies.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking Mexican food, swimming, and board games.
