
Judith Acevedo B.A. (Alberta), J.D. (Thompson Rivers University)
Judith was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Political Science and a Certificate of International Learning. She received her Juris Doctor from Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in 2019. She was called to the Alberta Bar in 2020.
During law school, she competed in the Kawaskimhon National Aboriginal Moot and was an editor for the Canadian Journal of Comparative and Contemporary Law. She was a Program Coordinator for Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC) – TRU Chapter, managing the TRU Chapter law student program that provides free legal services to not-for-profit organizations and individuals in need. She also worked at the TRU Community Legal Clinic, assisting low-income individuals with various legal matters and facilitating access to justice.
Judith works primarily in Family Law and has appeared in the Court of Justice and the Court of King’s Bench. In addition to the traditional retainer model, Judith also offers Limited Scope Retainers and notary services.
She is on the board of the Alberta Family Lawyers Association (AFLA), is an active member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), and volunteers at the Edmonton Community Legal Centre (ECLC).
Outside of work, Judith enjoys spending time with her family and friends, volunteering, and going for walks.
