Eunice Thambiraja Incoming Lawyer (To be called to the Bar July 2026)
Eunice Thambiraja was born in India and raised in Malaysia and Oman before pursuing medical studies in Qatar. In 2021, she moved to Canada and completed a Bachelor of Science in Immunology and Infection with Distinction at the University of Alberta. Having lived, studied, and worked across multiple countries and cultures, Eunice brings a broad perspective and deep appreciation for the diverse experiences that shape her clients’ lives.
Eunice earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law. During law school, she completed her clinical placement through the Low Income Individuals and the Law course at the Edmonton Community Legal Clinic (ECLC), where she provided legal assistance in social benefits advocacy and immigration law. In recognition of her dedication to clinical legal education, community service, and access to justice, she was awarded the Ashley Hathorn Scholarship.
Following her clinical placement, Eunice articled with ECLC, continuing to advocate for low-income and vulnerable clients facing complex legal challenges. Through this work, she gained experience supporting individuals and families navigating issues related to immigration status, income security, and access to essential services. These experiences reinforced her belief that legal problems are often interconnected and require thoughtful, client-centred solutions.
Eunice is particularly drawn to the intersection of family and immigration law. She is passionate about helping clients navigate major life transitions with practical guidance, empathy, and strong advocacy. Having experienced international moves and immigration processes herself, she brings a unique perspective to supporting newcomer families, individuals adapting to life in Canada, and clients facing legal challenges that cross personal, cultural, and geographic boundaries.
Outside of her practice, Eunice enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, PC gaming, pampering her already spoiled cats, and cooking meals that remind her of faraway places.
